Barbie was good for what is was! Pink, fun, with some very sanitized feminist values. This can probably be attributed to the corporation behind the movie and the necessity to be a family film.
Pretty much everything other than the actual story was amazing. Beautiful, fun costumes. Amazing backdrops and thoughtful props. Great actors!!! Margot Robbie is the perfect traditional Barbie.

The first time I watched this movie, I liked it but I wasn’t particularly impressed with it compared to other Ghibli films. Now, after rewatching, I’d say it’s one of my favorite movies of all time.
