  there seems to be a point where something that sounds as pretentious as the conversations within this script are actually just jumbled-up nonsense ... charlie kaufman has a way of making the obscurity in life understandable in a beautiful and flinchingly painful way, but the themes in this seemed so out of reach. what’s the point if you don’t meet your viewer where they’re at?
