Mirror 1975
not sure i’ve ever seen a film more resistant to interpretation.. but not exactly in a deliberately convoluted way — i don’t think Tarkovsky means to withhold access to the elucidation of the film. instead i read Mirror as an attempt to translate into cinematic form the absurd and fragmented nature of reality and memory.
