Sis had the empire’s love, the senate, Rome’s armies, and the natural heir handed to her last movie and managed to fuck it up so bad they had to make the same movie of her getting her ass saved AGAIN. The Substance 2024
The actors all did a good job, but I’m really not sure why this story got so much acclaim as it doesn’t add anything new or interesting to conversations around body dysmorphia, gender & ageism, Hollywood exploitation, etc. Even if you’re watching it just for the sake of gore, you may be disappointed; the grossest part to me was just Dennis Quaid eating shrimp.
