  I feel conflicted because the male director includes a pervasive topic such as (real & metaphorical) violence against women. The second half was visceral, I wanted to cry and scream the whole time. Maybe that means it was a good movie. Maybe the director did a good job at depicting how powerless men can make women feel. The movie was not romanticizing sex work. If anything, it forced you to feel empathy for Anora and criticize the men who objectified/silenced her.…

  This movie is so good that it made me want to be a sexy gay cowboy with toxic masculinity issues. I felt every ounce of despair and yearning. Brokeback Mountain is beautiful and tender and makes me feel proud of my LGBTQ+ identity! <3
