Lady Bird 2017
This film resonates so honestly, it hurts. Though I'll never be as entertainingly edgy as Lady Bird creates herself to be, her adolescence and navigation through growing up is something I think we all relate to: desire, owning weirdness, acknowledged embarrassment, and contradictory softness and angst. While I hope she will grow past some level of immaturity in idealistic thinking, I also hope she never becomes as jaded as her mother. And I hope that, in her children finally leaving…
