Monster's Ball 2001
Halle Berry and Heath Ledge were the only events that made this film salvageable. Only way I could describe it is racism + incarceration quite literally romanticised in the weirdest white male gaze way possible.

The Green Ray 1986
Honestly such a beautiful film. It took about 1/2hr to get into the slow pace of it with its minimal music as well as the seeming lack of direction - the main character is just kinda going back and forth, wanting to go on a holiday and then returning early (first world problems lol). But the calmness that the whole film has about it (long shots, many scenes in nature) almost contributes to a feeling of calm/ numbness of depression.…
