  I am currently writing about found footage and I’m trying to watch classics. I haven’t seen. I thoroughly enjoyed this tense and theatrical mockumentary. I was a little surprised that a director I know only as a documentarian made such an explicitly anti-documentarian movie. 
  the climax is so satisfying! that’s the hero of this movie for you

  “this is my pad, why shouldn’t I eat?”

  “what do you creeps think i’m running here, a hotel for slobs?”

  takes shagginess to the level of high art. a wonderful New York movie. i love how much of it is almost in real time. so we fall for Marcy as Paul does, and experience his dread and shock along the journey. every minor character is some wonderful cult classic character actor. the most fun possible movie.
