it had all of the classic Bong Joon Ho themes that we've seen before (environmentalism, class conflict, animals having feelings too), but it felt really scattered
it was more of a comedy than I was expecting
it was necessary to not think too hard re plot

I really wanted to like this movie. The beach , the house, the children , the clothing were all so beautiful.
The story was just okay. It didn’t need to be so slow. I get that we are supposed to feel the anguish of not knowing, and the slowness helps add to our pain. But the outcome was so expected. I was just bored.
I wish they had zoomed out more and told us more about what was going on…
I thought I was confused bc my Japanese is bad, but the other Japanese people in the theater were confused as well
