She's a tuna!

This is a solid, fun mystery movie. Feel the Rian Johnson-ness of it oozing from its pores. I wish there were like 5 mystery movies a year with big, good casts but directed by all different people.

Wish we had gotten more time with Lakeith Stanfield's character. Seemed like the most interesting guy in the movie. But maybe that's just how LS characters always seem lol.

Lynch is one of my favorite directors. This is my least favorite of his movies. Feel like he gives into his worst impulses here. Usually I'm into the stilted cadence of Lynch dialogue. Here, it just feels like every character's IQ has been tuned down by like 30 points.

Plenty of great little weird touches in here still; love the scene when they're driving at night and you feel the possibilities of the darkness open up for a moment all around Lula and Sailor. But overall, this is only a must-watch for Lynch completists.
