The Monkey 2025
i feel like this did not translate well as a comedy for some people because it was marketed as majorly horror. the dialogue and filming was very intentionally meant to be off-beat and reminded me adult swim at some parts.
it was fun and nice to see a horror comedy like this. i feel like they should have leaned on it way more and maybe altered some of the dialogue but otherwise it was a jolly time.

this guy watched harmony korine’s gummo and thought “wow let’s make it edgier by including meaningless animal abuse, footage of dead carcasses, elderly and disabled abuse” like at least there was nuance and some sort of message on low class america that’s been left alone to deal with poverty while this is just like “haha look dead kittens let’s squash them and light them on fire”
