Coraline has remained one of my favourite comfort films of all time. I love the whimsical nature and wonders of the Other World and how the atmosphere becomes increasingly creepy — it feels like the audience is experiencing the slow descent into something more frightening alongside Coraline, while still retaining the original magic of the world. Additionally, everything is executed so perfectly as a book adaptation, from the soundtrack to the implementation of Wybie’s character (which is a great add-on — his and Coraline’s dynamic is so fun!) To me, this is a flawless film, because I absolutely love it so much!
