Civil War 2024
this is a wet dream. political polarisation aside, this movie completely surpasses my expectations. it’s so easy to make a film about the fall of the united states. come on, it’s been done. seeing it through the lens of JOURNALIST is something that i really appreciated from this film. from the subtle callbacks and the dramatisation of reality (yet not too far from it?), this film just hits all the spots for me. 10/10.

Dune 2021
This movie spent its entire run time leading up to something. And apparently it was 5 mins of screen time for zendaya.
Visually, I can’t lie and say it wasn’t stunning. The plot also does a good job in explaining the lore to someone like me who came into this movie only knowing the chamalet guy is in it and Oscar Isaac too can’t forget him lol
I mean, they really are leading a lot towards the sequel, which just leaves this movie to feel like prelude with a runtime of 155mins. Enjoyable, but left feeling a little empty ngl
