  All in all, the amusement of the film was its contradiction in tone; a series of dark and serious scenes, followed by a cardinal sucking on a disposable vape (an amusing cultural nod)…. A story of a stern religious process, book ended by a clunky/ awkward funeral procedure and a lighthearted plot twist…. 
  The cinematography was superb. Dramatic yet exquisitely crafted light… it felt (at times) studio lit in its deliberate starkness, yet was convincing enough in its source that it elevated the cinematic world- rather than distracting from it.
