The Raid 2022
A little messy plot wise. Whilst the villains of this piece certainly don’t deserve any sympathy a tendency towards caricature in those parts, and a lack of nuance, perhaps did some disservice to the power of the message. But then again tables need to be turned and voices need to be heard. And the continuing emergence of te reo Māori and te ao Māori in film needs to be celebrated.

Call Me by Your Name 2017
Cried all the tears. ALL THE TEARS. Awkward, self deprecating but so precious and beautiful. Timothée Chalamet was amazing.
