The Eyes of My Mother is grotesque from start to finish. Divided into three parts, it shows us the horrifying life of Francisca. As a child, her mother is murdered before her eyes. Her father, unable to deal with what he has witnessed, places the responsibility of dealing with the situation on her. The guilt drives her insane, until she can only feel joy by torture and killing.
