A perfect kids’ movie (my toddler asks to watch it every day), this whimsical movie captures childhood innocence and sibling dynamics in a spectacular fashion that seems almost effortless.
The animation is of incredible quality, the scenery is beautiful, the soundtrack ranges from chill to excited, raucous to mysterious.
Miyazaki based some story beats on his own life, and you can tell this movie came from the heart. It has emotional pull, while also avoiding unnecessary stress so that children are never scared or upset while watching.
Highly recommend this animated masterpiece.
