The Black Phone 2021
I wondered why this was marketed so hard. I figured it was bc it was unlike Ethan Hawke - a serious actor - to star in a “scary” movie.
Turns out they were just chasing the Stranger Things/It craze: 13 year olds in the 70s/80s, with a little bit of scary mixed in. Skip this one. It’s for kids.

Jesus Christ. Some of the worst dialogue I’ve ever heard in a movie. They tried for Tarantino but missed so hard.
How many characters can have catch phrases? How many times can they use the catch phrases?
To top it off, the lyrics to the “fictional music” are so god awful.

Terribly slow. The entire movie consists of a baby crying a lot, a woman making eggs a lot, and 10 seconds of silence between every piece of dialogue.
