  Live action sports anime for horny gays and bisexuals, with the soundtrack of the year to boot

  Electric cinematography but some of the POV shots made me audibly go “ugh” and the indulgent focus on style turned the last twenty minutes of an otherwise perfect film into a slog

  A real bummer when the the car they use to show Patrick is a broke bum is also your car

  The Imitation Game 2014

  My high school history class went to see this in theaters. One of my friends in that class later came out as gay. So did I. We never talked about this movie. I hope he’s well. 

  The world this movie creates is so gripping. It slides down easy, and at times captures life during wartime in deeply intimate ways. But that world is so inaccurate from real life, as are the kid gloves it uses to tackle Turing’s sexuality. I enjoyed the movie. I should probably read the book.
