The subtle references to the Siddhartha Gautama story throughout the movie (being imprisoned for ones 'benefit' over and over) made me stay, the feminist and outcast-empowerment rhetoric made me love it. Bella constantly referring to Godwin as God also leaves a lot to unpack.
