Beautiful cinematography. Sam Shepard is heartbreaking as the dying rich farmer vying for Brooke Adams’ heart. Richard Gere is complicated as the man who loves her but can’t quite rise to occasion until it’s too late. However, I’m realizing that in both this film and Malick’s “Badlands”, I long to spend more time with our characters. I want a deeper dive into their thoughts and emotions.
