  A great concept muddled by leaning too heavily on action sequences that ran too long and offered very little. Up until John and Jane joined forces in the last 45 minutes of the inconceivable runtime, this film was nothing special, dragging on for way too long without presenting much intrigue. Husband and wife in a mundane marriage trying to kill each other, cool, who should I root for? Neither of them? Then why am I watching.

  If you’re going to make a movie musical, make a movie musical. Enough of this one-foot-in, one-foot-out nonsense that Mean Girls carried on with from the moment the first trailer came out. I don’t care if your focus groups told you that some people don’t like musicals — you’re not making it for them.

  This movie removed the joy and energy from so much of the musical, and for what reason? To appeal more to the people who don’t want…
