I watched this film on my birthday with one of my closest friends in a theater with just us so that was pretty freakin epic. To be honest, I was on some edi’s and the CD skipped about 2/3rds of the way through the movie so the whole plot is still a bit incomplete to me. Jack Nicholson is so good and although it was made in the ‘70s and set in the ‘20s, it still was sound enough to…

This movie was good, honestly because I’m a huge fan of Andrew Garfield. I wish I got to see more of Adam Driver. The film asks pretty important theological questions that had me contemplating my own faith. I didn’t even know that this movie existed, let alone directed by the Scorsese before a few weeks ago. Mel, Mel, Mel. Never even heard of this movie before tonight but I’m glad I was made aware of its existence. Gripping from the get-go, it never felt like a movie but more like an extremely well made History channel production. Maybe the most profound moment to me was when they’re about to be sacrificed, and the shaman is talking about how they are the chosen people and will be closest to the gods. It made me a it somber truth be told. How many people have said something exactly like that? How many people can be chosen?
