Good but not even close to the book
This is an incredibly well made movie that sadly misses the point of its source material. All Quiet on the Western Front has impressive cinematography and sound design but it’s trying to hard to please Hollywood by trying to be louder, darker, dirtier and bloodier than its predecessors.

La La Land 2016
I liked it when I first watched it. I loved it the second time but I only realised how special this movie is when I watched it the third time. It has aged so well and Mia’s and Sebastian’s story hits different when you are in a relationship with an artist yourself. I have nothing but respect for anyone involved in this incredibly brave movie. It is such a beautiful tribute to film making and the pursuit of art.

Die Quintessenz deutschen Mainstream Kinos. Ein Film dessen gesamte Handlung wie üblich bereits im Trailer erzählt wird. So eine oberflächliche und schwach erzählte Handlung dann auf über 120 Minuten strecken zu können ist das einzig beeindruckende an diesem Film.
