The Substance 2024
I love the concept but i don't think that the film was executed that well. I was quite disappointed. I felt like the point got across pretty fast, and I'm not one for unnecessary gore. Cough Cough the end. Also! One thing that absolutely annoyed me so much was the fact that the phone went from a home phone, (1980's?) to her having a new iphone. Same with the green screened TV. It peeved me the whole movie. The more that I think about the movie I like it, but honestly it was not my thing. Wouldn't watch again.

Absolutely amazing. Beautiful commentary on racism, economic status, and gender roles. An intricately woven exploration of the perpetual cycle that every Black community seems to have; one created and continually perpetrated by the likes of systemic racism and inequity. This movie was the perfect pace, had an impeccable soundtrack, and amazing (an understatement) acting. It's so cool to see a Black Dystopian film. I cannot express my love for this film. The ending was SO amazing, and a final explanation. I can't wait to watch this movie again.
