Still the best practical effects ever.literally disgusting and alien in the best way possible.
Great monster kills, some funny spooky stings, and such great lighting … had me ooohing and ahhhhhing. Another cool thing(!) is how the mystery of who that thang is is being kept secret until the end, and even up for debate too. It’s always fun to read some “theories” and whatnot.

Great soundtrack and sound design. The whooshing wind, rising orchestral pieces and shrill woodwinds make some great texture along with the cinematography.
The normalcy and formality of the life at the college and Michael being a rich boy makes for some nice juxtaposition with the spooky trancelike fever dream bits. Those sections remind me of when you’re aware that you’re in a waking dream, especially with the hazy lighting from the heat of Straya’

Everybody in the crew is incredible, and the cat and mouse between Pacino and De Niro makes for great tension and banter. Score and sound team popped off, from the subtle calm before the storm to the pulse pounding eardrum bursting gunfire (everybody in the car would be deaf as fuck after Kilmers first volley of gunfire)Translated from by
