I can’t remember the last time I saw a movie that balanced being extremely funny and having great commentary this well. Loved the acting and how well it mirrors current frustrations with the current political climate in the U.S., and abroad. Mickey 18 getting angry at Mickey 17 for laying down and submitting to the “powers at be,” and Nasha going apeshit on Ruffalo’s character were hilarious but so incredibly real and relatable moments. Was genuinely taken aback in the first 5 minutes by the cinematography, the transitions to different angles were so buttery smooth and natural.

Pinnacle of fiction. Explores ideas of bisexuality, gentrification of Japanese and Mexican culture, and also pushes the boundaries of what is considered appropriate for sound design and animation as an art form.

The depth of emotions in some of these scenes is unparalleled, eclipsing the sadness of On the Count of Three, the serenity and optimism of Perfect Days, and the action and impact of Harakiri or even The Matrix.

The ending is bounds more tragic than La La Land, and I shed many a tear.
