Gladiator 2000
An excellently directed period piece. It did a very good job getting me interested quickly, which is something I generally struggle with in period pieces. This is probably the best Russel Crowe movie. The acting was all around excellent, and the political intrigue aspect only added to the great battle scenes. My only complaints would be the occasional odd cinematography. But that is a small complaint. Overall, this movie is an excellent story of betrayal and redemption.

Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio 2022
This movie was one of the most beautiful claymation films I have ever seen. It does an excellent job of balancing being unique while adapting an old story. My one main complaint is how annoying Pinocchios voice can be. I'm sure that they did that on purpose, but it still annoys the hell out of me. Other than that, it's an amazing story and very deserving of the Oscar.
