The Host 2006
A funny, tragic, satirical, socio-political, scary, and suspenseful monster movie with fantastic performances carrying the emotional weight of the story. As a huge fan of Okja, Snowpiercer, and Parasite, I noticed a lot of similar themes and ideas represented here. This show blew me away completely.
An instant classic. Brings together the best of Fielder and Safdie’s styles with a phenomenal Emma Stone performance tying them together. It’s unsettling, hilarious, contemporary, layered, horrifying, and absurd.
