Hmmm where do I begin.
The first 40 minutes of the movie felt slow. It was honestly hard to stay focused until the 2nd act picked up.Recognizing her dissociative behavior was really cool with all the visual inconsistencies surrounding her. From her fish tank to her entire apartment. Even the people around her. The animators did an amazing job in this movie and mima’s voice actress really had me clenching my heart for her during the rape scenes.

Despite Pia and Charlie not having much screentime together and all their romance is built on their history together, I found myself not minding it. Simone just has chemistry with every white man she’s paired up with. She’s that girl for real.
This movie should’ve been a show instead to actually explore all the dynamics (especially my favorite trope; problematic age gap)
Side note this is mostly for me: (Sigh,, I deserve a penny every time I watch a movie or read a book that reminds me of him)

Simone is amazing. I’m so happy she worked on this project and made it happen. The movie is so enjoyable. The characters are so well written and real. The chemistry is wonderful and the story gives you something to care about.
I love every project I see Hero in just PLEASE keep him AWAY from the After garbage I am BEGGING. His potential and talent is so good and I’m glad he’s branching out.
