  A masterpiece of nonlinear storytelling, it's fun to revisit after watching Tenet and Inception for the umpteenth time to see how Nolan's exploration of time and time perception have carried through his career. As much as I love that he gets a fat budget and creative blank check now, there's something magical about how tight and contained his work is here, and I wouldn't be opposed to him going back to character-driven thrillers.

  This really is the epitome of Korean mass market cinema, in that it's targeted towards people with the emotional depth of a preteen with such blatant heartstring-tugging hits like "crying child", "baby montage", and "douchey selfish guy is actually badass and sacrifices himself" (holy tropes, there’s actually two of these!). I’m pretty sure there’s a huge overlap between people who like this movie and people who think Taylor Swift songs are deep.

Following
