  as with all of yorgos lanthimos’ movies, i was uncomfy in the beginning but i’m glad i stuck it out. there are themes of sexual empowerment and agency, but ultimately i don’t think this movie is about womanhood or feminism. there really aren’t any moments that explore womanhood or the female experience as a concept beyond surface level interactions with misogynistic men. i think this movie instead tries to explore the idea of a person entering society without any preconceived…
