Spinning Boris 2003
In short it seems the movie is a critique of the American democratic system — although a bit on the nose it does a decent job.
The bathhouse and bar scenes make you feel like you’re watching a fever dream at times; the movie doesn’t necessarily have a break-neck pace, but events happen in quick succession and it doesn’t really let off the pedal, mirroring the quick game of American politics, and ultimately it doesn’t feel like it drags.
If any of the dialogue outside of the lines written for Jeff Goldblum were nearly as charming as his it’d be a more fun watch.
