Something so disturbing about the neighbourhood boys’ fascination with the Lisbon sisters and their suicides. As though they are scientists trying to make what’s invisible ‘visible,’ they collect parts of their lives, Cecilia’s diary and then trinkets, spy, order the same mail. Clever use of narration to do more than juxtapose fantasy with reality. And then there is the infected elm tree…
