Knock at the Cabin 2023
A very faithful adaptation to the book which is always a great time! However the book was much more bloody than the movie made it to be. Usually I’d say you don’t need to show color cry for the sake of violence but I feel that in the book it was necessary to give more weight to characters actions because the violence was inescapable for the protagonists. So there being a lacking of violence (with it happening off screen) didn’t match up to responses of characters.
A few cool camera shots too that made me go “oooo I loved that!”

The Menu 2022
If you go into this movie expecting a horror film or a film that has the essence of horror, you may be disappointed. This film does an amazing job and exploring the dynamics between the hospitality industry and the consumer. That when pushed to extremes, the repercussions of one’s passions, now meaningless may result in deadly consequences.
I feel as though this movie falls into the realm of a dark comedy and social commentary. With it’s all star cast it greatly reminds me of films like Knives Out and Death on The Nile.
