  Shrek 2 is like an onion- it has layers. Layers that I unfortunately couldn’t notice during my initial viewing because I, like most four year olds, lacked a good sense of media literacy and comprehension. But getting to revisit it as a conscious adult, in a theater nonetheless (like God intended) allowed me to enjoy it at a new kind of level.
