Christmas As Usual 2023
this was physically painful to watch. like i seriously got a stomachache over how they treated Jashan. some jokes are good but others fall incredibly flat and distasteful, it even feels like a microaggression sometimes. it leaves norwegian people in a weird spot.
the ending was kind of... meh? i'm alright on how the conflict was resolved, i guess but the whole airport scene was stereotypically bad and kinda anti-climatic. nice ending scene but you can't properly enjoy because of the rest of the movie.

Poor Things 2023
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Gorgeous cinematography, a beautiful film score, and good acting. A film about the brutality and horror of womanhood, a story about grooming, and a not-so-witty Frankenstein metaphor. And yet, so empty. Entertaining watch but poorly delivered its message. The "good for her" ending screams what male directors think feminism is.
