    A Quiet Place Part II

    ★★½

ends super abruptly. just didn’t learn anything about the fleshy spider crabs which i didn’t already know from 5 minutes into part 1

felt seriously placed at times when the monsters could and could not hear a sound (or everything metal in the industrial ruin is made of polystyrene???), or were generally in the right place at the right time

watched this on the back of watching The Road so naturally will be more critical - cillian is obviously slapping it up big time and gets at least 1 star single handedly

    About Time

I have such discontent for this movie. thought i’d give it one more shot but i despise it more than the first watch.

for all reasons the negative reviews on here have already discussed regarding (just) the men manipulating the world around them, but the only redeeming element of ‘cuteness’ is shrouded in James O’brien, Waterstones bestseller table, M&S foodhall, whippets, off menu podcast, Antibes blue painted wall level of middle england garbage. a gaping hole between both my ears would be more endearing

“my son, my dad” SHUT UUUUUP

“For me it’s the opposite. I’m old enough. I need time to grow up.”

Yeah this it it. The plant, the milk spillages, leon totally nonplussed as his counterpart chronically laughs at him in a packed restaurant. Too many thoughts and too much appreciation currently but Gary Oldman is hilarious…

watched this on live Film 4 in a caravan on top of a hotel in central Bristol with 4 cans of Madri and an uber eats burger on company expenses - sun setting poking through the hinged window.

feel like the ‘buddy’ to that guy on tik tok who makes lemon meringue pie or french toast and plays N64. his gentle whispering dispensible while a Harrelson cosplays Josh Homme and smashes the gaff up with his tentacles
