Sometimes a Great Notion 1971
I don't think I've seen a movie which more accurately describes rural life. It's the spite in the face of apparently meaningless that forces them to Never Give A Inch. Persuasion 2022
The film doesn’t work because in attempting to modernize it ditches the social conventions that make the tension genuine. The whole plot only works because Austen is attempting to satirize the absurd social norms which preclude open and honest communication. In playing up the comedy, the entire suspension of disbelief is lost and the film falls flat.

Dakota Johnson continues her streak of terrible acting performances, truly a generational talent. Inspiring.Translated from by
