    This is what pushing limits of human emotions is.

    That's it; that is what this film is. An anthology of situations where people are pushed to the extreme by society, and consequently, the tipping point resulting in their outlandish actions.

    The film has a certain shocl factor, that at times becomes way predictable and funny.

    Some shots are I would say, amazing.

    There is just so much to say about this movie that I cannot comprehend where to start.

    Ok, first a context of the 1990s Russia. It was one of the worst periods in modern Russian history, with the collapse of the USSR and Shock Therapy Economics, the living conditions quickly deteriorated.     Biopics are an oversaturated genre. It seems like everyone wants to make one. So it is rare when someone gets it right, and Maidaan is one such film.

    I had a personal connection with the subject of this film before. I am a football fan and a raging patriot. I have heard stories about the Golden Age of Indian Football and Syed Abdul Rahim sir. His vision, tactics and dedication to the game were reflected in the movie poignantly.
