This movie upholds the high standards set by the first film. But because it's a "part 1" and not a standalone movie, I can't give it 5 stars. The plot builds and builds but there is no release. Can't wait for Part 2.
Every time I rewatch this film it's just more clear that it is the best super hero movie of all time.

This is one of those rare fantasy films that has no discernible plot throughout about half the runtime—leaving a mystery what conflict will drive the 3rd act.
Instead, the film lets you bask in warm and wonderful characters set off by a beautiful atmosphere typical of Miyazaki’s films.
And then the plot comes barrelling in from nowhere like a catbus (watch the film) for the 3rd act, exploiting your emotions to their limits because of the previous investment in characters.
