At the end of the day, just a creative idea and vision. Think being John Malkovich but toned down. The second half of this movie surprised me, despite some, at times, mediocre performances and writing. But at many other times, those performances and writing stood their ground!
It makes you think, it’s entertaining, and it makes you feel something - a little about love, a little about life…what else do you need?
This movie was literally amazing.
On the group at hand — Capybara is the goat of the boat, looking out for everybody. Really a guy for the people. Love that dude. Lemurs a freak and lowkey wacky but the more he sticks around the more you like him. Goldie’s the fucking man, just down to play, but his boys are wack - didn’t trust them from day 1. Crane/birdie’s in his own world, never was really part of the group…
I didn’t like this movie very much. I do like Ralph fines. And the cinematography is killer. But a good movie isn’t necessarily a well shot one.
The whole story feels manufactured and inauthentic. If you’re going to make a politics game, it’s got to feel real. Not like “oh hey look at this, they’re all playing politics! Isn’t that cool??”
I also feel like the context of the movie — electing the POPE — held no weight. No matter…
One of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. Wouldn’t have watched this all the way through if one of my roommates wasn’t really excited about it.
This is a “nothing-movie” with zero intrigue, tension, context, themes, atmosphere, and purpose. Think “NightCrawler” except it’s not satirical and also not a movie. There’s not one interesting scene in this mess of a digital collection of images.
