My Own Private Idaho 1991
Far from the wholesome gay-romance movie I was expecting. I figured the motorcycle shots were them riding off into the sunset, not riding out to meet Phoenix’s incestuous family.
Amazing movie though. What stood out to me is how Reeve’s character treats the their lifestyle as a game. He has the safety net of his father and money. For everyone else it isn’t a game, it’s real life. Not only do they not have a backup plan, they have no resources to make a primary plan either.
