Fargo 1996
Bleak in tone and subject matter and visuals (big snowy expanses peopled by small, selfish individuals). A well-made movie but also a very depressing movie. Watching it in the dead of a very cold Pittsburgh winter was a mistake. My grievances with this movie are more personal and emotional (it left me feeling empty) than they are aesthetic. But taste is personal and emotional!
