One of the more unique films I’ve seen. I wasn’t a big fan of how it was shot like a home video but it has its moments. The speech reveal caught me by surprise and I had to go back and rewind to make sure I read the subtitles correctly.
I found it strange how Pia found the note in Helene’s room. It felt unmotivated to me why she was even snooping around in there. Maybe she was looking for her keys…
I could not connect with this movie whatsoever. I think the main reason is I could not stand the values portrayed within the 1950s cinema. The most obvious one being Judy rebelling over the fact that her father won’t let her kiss him? A bunch of spoiled brats rebelling is not compelling to me. And the random cutting in scenes added to my frustration even more. Logistically this film made no sense to me either but I won’t get started on that.
