Bong Joon Ho manages to build an interesting enough world across the 2-hour-plus runtime of Mickey 17. It is incredibly funny and zany, carried by a fantastic dual performance from Robert Pattinson. However, this film is a far cry from Joon Ho’s best work, Parasite. The plot is a bit all over the place, and I felt there were a couple of great avenues to explore that simply weren’t. Jingle All the Way 1996

Conclave 2024
You don't need a deep interest or background in the papal conclave to enjoy this incredibly tense political thriller. Ralph Fiennes delivers yet another masterclass performance, supported by a dynamic cast. It's also an excellent adaptation of the book. While the twist at the end might not be the biggest payoff, it doesn't detract from the story. It takes a few shots at the Catholic Church, but that's not uncommon these days. Conclave will be nominated for, and likely win, multiple awards this year.
