this is beautiful. i think creating a slower pace movie that's this effective is incredibly difficult but so rewarding if you can pull it off. a movie that's shot and paced like this NEEDS perfect editing, acting, and cinematography, and this shit does not disappoint.
actually one of the best looking movies i've ever seen. there are multiple frames in this movie i would like to glue to my eyelids so i can look at them every time i blink.

blocking and framing masterclass. consistently very funny. the snappy dialogue is amazing and the delivery (especially dustin hoffman’s) is perfect.
one of my favorite things to do when rewatching a funny movie is exerting a one (1) singular chuckle at the start of scenes i know will be funny.
i forgot how much i love the color in this movie. it’s consistently vibrant without sacrificing any kind of realism. it’s almost like having actual colors in the movie doesn’t detract from the believability or alienate the audience from the characters’ emotional states (yes i’m looking at you jon m chu).…
fun watch, i like the perspective it took but i feel like it didn’t have much of its own identity. it felt very clever and unique at the beginning, but many of the plot points in the middle were pretty cliche.
i don’t think subverting expectations is necessary for a movie to be good, but when the setup for the movie is the same cult thriller opening we’ve seen before (but with a bit of its own flair to it),…
