Gladiator II 2024
Honestly a major disappointment for me. I wasn't expecting anything close to the first one but this was pretty bad all around. The only saving graces were Denzel's performance and the fact I'm a sucker for historical epics.
I like Mescal and I think he was likely hampered by the writing, but in this he maybe had 1/100th of the screen presence that Crowe had in the first one.
Feels like Scott directed this not because he wanted to but…

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes 2023
Was very pleasantly surprised by this. Solid setup and pretty well acted especially by the two leads.
The plot stumbles a bit during the home stretch which prevents me from rating it higher but I had fun watching this one.
