Scorsese’s b-side genre flick masterpiece! Gave me both my favourite movie villain and my favourite Simpson’s episode.

Unreal performances my De Niro and Jessica Lange. Always love Nolte’s paranoia induced smoking (the drag he takes while laying in bed in the third act is a superb piece of cigarette acting). And my god the matte paintings are gorgeous!

The opera scene is just an absolutely insane display of acting.

    Holy fuck…I’m shook…

Perfectly scratches the unsettling itch that the tv series only ever teased throughout its run. With paralleled imagery of static bedroom corners, to shadowy staircases, the empty slots of Laura’s bedframe, Dale Cooper traversing through a hallway into an adjacent door, a white horse, the stalking of a black dog at night. A festering evil which lurks beneath a small town veneer harbouring man’s incessant need to consume, destroy, gorge and swallow all that is pure and innocent.

This is surely some of Lynch’s best work.
