  The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 1966

  Was forced to watch this in Italian in Italy and for a 3 hour Clint Eastwood movie I was actually pleasantly surprised. Not the greatest movie but it was playful and engaging, good quality for such an old movie

  It was a good movie, and followed a plot line of the very realistic chaos that would ensue in such an event. There was a lot of good emotional relationships that showed humanity and a few broken tropes that we don’t see often in disaster movies. But alas, this is still a movie that’s been made a hundred times before, but will be in the ranks of Deep Impact and Armageddon as the great meteor/asteroid disaster movies.

  Leave the World Behind 2023

  I thought the world building was really fun and a lot of the tense scenes were well executed but it was a bit clunky. The dialogue (possibly just the book) was not well written and there was too much “openly saying what’s going on” instead of showing it. I understand the theme is to not know what’s going on, but seemingly supernatural events all ending up with no answers in the end about what actually happened or how it happened was a bit disappointing. Could have been a great film, but felt forced and a bit oddly paced
